Clubs

These are some of the SCRABBLE® clubs in Sacramento metropolitan area.

Official SCRABBLE clubs

Official clubs use NASPA's Official Tournament Rules, tournament grade equipment (rotating deluxe or custom boards, smooth tiles, digital timers) and the Official Tournament and Club Word List.

Players of all skill levels are welcome.  You may want to contact the director beforehand to verify the meeting time or just show up for the meeting.

New players are usually given some allowances (e.g., use a preprinted cheat sheet, challenge without penalty, reduced overtime penalty) during the first few visits to help them get up to speed with tournament style play.

There is usually enough equipment for everyone, as each set accommodates two players.  Bring a pen and paper for keeping score.

Casual SCRABBLE clubs

Casual clubs generally use the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary, which is edited for home and school use (no dirty words).  The use of timers is usually optional.
